Eating Salads

I love salads, but shaky hands make it difficult to eat them with a fork. A few months ago, I saw a wooden device that looked like a pair of hinged chopsticks. It was at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and they are normally used to remove toasted bread from a toaster. I bought a pair of these, and, using them like chopsticks, I now find eating salads a breeze.

Great suggestion for those who can still manage a rather complicate utensil. We have found that using a soup spoon works well when the other possibilities. We live on salads and never go out without a soup spoon in my purse.

I always say, "I can give new meaning to the words - tossed salad" Metal forceps from the flea market work great! Don't forget your marvelous fingers when tools become difficult to handle. On your next trip to your dentist's office, ask to keep the chain and clips used with a paper drape to protect your clothes. When going out to eat, take your clips and forceps along with a clothe napkin that coordinates with the clothes you wear.
