I will admit that this became a problem for be due to compulsive behaviors I developed over time with PD and meds. I am by no means losing my mind and have no dementia, but I did lose my ability to maintain things as they should have been and my oldest daughter was not willing to step up and help me.
For anyone who has a similar problem, there is help out there in the world. I was not aware of it. I discovered it through a physician in my life who saw I needed help, and I was delighted to sign up.
Mental Health American has a Representative Payee Program and I would recommend it to anyone. It does take some adjusting to get use to the program, but it has been a Godsend for me. I would not have been able to move recently and to use the moving company without MHA. I would not have been able to purchase the new eyeglasses I pickup today, May 28, 2009 without MHA.
