Walk in the Park: Enhancing Lives with Every Step

We had a marvelous time at the Walk in the Park on July 26! Thanks to everyone for Walking the Walk and making every step count!  Our goal to promote community awareness about Parkinson’s and raise funds to support the programs and services provided by Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation was far surpassed! Thank you to the over 260 walkers who helped make the day a huge success and took part in the festivities!

Kudos to…

  • Josh Kerns, from KIRO Newsradio for doing a spectacular job emceeing the event!
  • Judi Spencer and the NWPF Choir, the Tremolos for performing inspiring songs.
  • Angie Bolton for leading an awakening stretch that got us truly warmed up.
  • The 260 Walkers who came out to show their support for the Parkinson’s community.
  • Michael and Marissa from the Fox & the Gypsy for playing an amazing set after the walk.

Our local sponsors:

  • Upper Queen Anne Starbucks, Store 431 for supplying all the coffee to get us started.
  • Whole Foods in Roosevelt Square in Seattle for supplying us with organic bananas for all!
  • Fedelta Home Care Solutions for being our Water Sponsor, and supplying all our water, especially on such a warm day!

And last but certainly not least, special thank you to all our superstar volunteers that worked hard and in the heat to make the day a great success!  Theresa Larsen, Bailey Larsen, Todd Alkema, Adrian Alkema, Terri Kelsey, Bette Jane Camp, Linda Kisch, Ken Kisch, Lisa Brudvik, Patty St. George, Barb Krogh, Miriam Perez, Joenel Perez, Curtis Haynes, Lori Alkema, Paula Alkema and Darrell Alkema.

And congrats to our “early-bird registrants” Christine Johnston Kelsey & Scott Filarski for winning the Seahawks tickets and the Medi-Spa Experience.  Woo hoo!
