Community

How you define your community is up to you-
your town, your neighborhood, your church or
religious group, your friends, your support group,
others that share a common interest,
and even your on line wellness community.

A sense of community so important to our emotional and spiritual well-being.  In fact having social support, caring people or someone you can share your difficulties with is the single most important factor contributing to health in chronic conditions. As a member of the virtual wellness center you are a member of a community with the shared goal of living your best and supporting others with Parkinson's.  Help us create a sense of community and let others know they are not alone by posting your motivational tips and inspirational stories, suggesting topics of interest to you as a person with Parkinson's and sharing what works for you by clicking on contact us.

Your community likely offers many programs that are beneficial to people with Parkinson's- such as exercise programs, dance classes, art classes, book clubs, financial planning, volunteer opportunities and support groups to name a few. These programs are often inexpensive and sometime free. Begin by exploring what your community has to offer you. Turn to Find resources and help in your community for tips on how to get started.
